Wild city: Meet Amsterdam’s animals

After writing about all things cultural and lifestyle for over a decade in the UK, Jayne switched the rainy cobbles of Manchester for the equally rainy cobbles of Amsterdam in search of fresh adventures, new discoveries and Dutch beer. She’s often to be found seeking out new places, fun faces and hidden spaces on her trusty Bobbin bike. Read more about her favourite places in Amsterdam at My Pal in Amsterdam.

Watch the exhilarating new teaser video for upcoming Amsterdam wildlife film ‘De Wilde Stad’ (Wild City).

Aaah, there’s a fat cat moseying through a crowded square. A hawk soaring majestically over Amsterdam’s rooftops. A pigeon catching a train! Wonder where he’s headed. A mother duck in the water with her cute little ducklings… but wait, here comes a hungry seagull and… no… wait… LEAVE THAT DUCKLING ALONE!

Jeez, nature is brutal. Even here in Amsterdam, where the city’s 300 animal species battle it out for supremacy across rooftops, canals and cobbles, occasionally taking some time out to enjoy the Gay Pride canal parade. And you can see it all in a spectacular new nature film by the makers of ‘De Nieuwe Wildernis’, set for release in 2017.

Watch the trailer below, and look out for the full film when it hits cinemas next year.
